At  the Annual Bowling Match with lodge Livingstone No599  held on Sunday 13^th September in the Blantyre Bowling Club, lodge Blantyre Kilwinning No557 managed to retain the winners trophy for another year, the R.W.Masters of both lodges would like to thank all the brethren that attended, making it another memorable day.

The R.W.M. Bro. Ronald J. Ford would like to take this opportunity, to thank everyone who helped make the Burns Supper a great success, from the entertainment to the audience, a very enjoyable evening was had by all. THANKS TO ALL

Blantyre Kilwinning have been invited to attend the regular meeting of Lodge Newlands No 949 on Thursday 1st of April 2010 and while there confer the F.C. degree on one their candidates. to be admitted approx. 7.45 p.m.

 Bro Alan Thomas Parker, who was formally in the HDU at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury, Kent. has now been transferred to a care home in the Hamilton area, he has very little memory recollection of anything due to his illness, but enjoys the company and banter of the Brethren who have been visiting.

The RWM Bro. Ronnie Ford would like to thank his installing masters Bro. Gordon Mather P.M. 557, Bro Ronald Ford P.M. 607 (his father) and Bro. Jas. D. Brown P.M. 557, and all the Brethren who attended his Installation, and helped to make the event a very memorable and enjoyable occasion, a special thanks goes to Piper Bro. Wm. Shaw P.M. 599 Hon Member. 557, for his entertaining pipes and the odd dirge.

 Brother George D. Haines. Who passed away on Saturday 7th November aged 78 years              

Brother George was Initiated in September 1952, Passed on the 30th October 1952, Raised on the 30th November 1952 and Advanced to the Mark degree on December 1952.  Brother George received his 50 year presentation on September 2002 and was a member for 57 years.   In 1964 George left for America to join the armed forces and returned later in 1967. He became an honorary member of Lodge Bothwell Brigg No. 1229 in 1979

INSTRUCTION CLASS

The instruction class is proving to be an ongoing success under the watchful eye of Bro. Frank Beetham PM, and is a breath of fresh air to see so many new members becoming more and more involved in the ceremonial part of our meetings.  A new era is setting a very high standard of our Masonic Workings, any brother wishing to come along to these classes will be made most welcome. (you don't need to be taking part in degree work to attend the classes)
